Our Story

LikeButton.me was founded in 2010 with a simple mission: to bring the power of social engagement to every corner of the web. Before social media platforms made "liking" content ubiquitous, we saw an opportunity to democratize this simple yet powerful interaction.

In the early days of social media, we noticed that many websites lacked a simple way for visitors to show appreciation without the commitment of commenting or sharing. The "like" concept was revolutionizing engagement on platforms like Facebook, but independent websites were left behind.

That's when our founder, Alex Chen, had a breakthrough idea: what if any website could add a lightweight, privacy-focused like button with just a few lines of code?

Our Mission

At LikeButton.me, we believe in the power of positive feedback. Our mission is to make the web a more encouraging and interactive place by providing the simplest way for visitors to show appreciation for content they enjoy.

In an age where online interactions can often be negative or divisive, we're committed to fostering positivity. The simple act of "liking" content creates a connection between creator and audience—a small but meaningful gesture that says "I see your work, and I value it."

We're dedicated to keeping our solution lightweight, privacy-focused, and accessible to everyone from professional developers to casual bloggers. We believe technology should enhance human connection, not complicate it.

Alex Chen

Founder & CEO

Alex's journey in web development began in the early 2000s when he built his first blog and discovered the power of online community engagement. After working as a developer at several tech startups, Alex became fascinated with the psychology of social interactions online.

"I noticed that many websites felt like one-way streets," Alex recalls. "Content creators were publishing, but they had little insight into what resonated with their audience unless someone took the time to leave a comment—which most visitors don't do."

This observation led to the creation of LikeButton.me in 2010, with the goal of bringing frictionless engagement to every website. Alex's passion for creating simple, powerful tools that enhance human connection continues to drive the company's vision today.

When not coding or thinking about the future of web interaction, Alex enjoys hiking with his dog and collecting vintage video games.
